The results of this study indicate that the WRVAS is lacking in some aspects. First, it seems clear that the scale mainly assesses the deformity of the thoracic area, whereas the lumbar deformity (both flank prominence and waist asymmetry) are poorly represented. Second, the WRVAS represents the various deformities in only one direction. For, example shoulder imbalance is depicted as a range from normal to maximum elevation of the right shoulder. The possibility that the left shoulder might be elevated is not contemplated. This fact would undoubtedly explain the lack of correlation between the radiological measurement and the score for item 6. This problem is repeated for virtually all the questions. The solution is difficult because it would require the use of different questionnairs according to the direction of the deformity or the requirement that each item range from the maximum left deformity to the maximum right deformity. This might very well compromise the practical utility of the scale. Finally, the scores for various questions do not seem to correspond to what the patient "sees in the mirror". Rather, they seem to correspond more to the subjective impression patients have of their back (which they usually do not see), and this impression is mainly based on the spinal x-rays.

Despite the suggested angle independency of STE, the best tracking quality can be achieved from speckles that move in the direction of the ultrasound beam [27, 28] where resolution is higher. Lateral resolution, perpendicular to the ultrasound beam, is lower and subjected to interpolation procedure across adjacent beams. Accordingly, apical views are more suitable for tracking speckles in the longitudinal direction than the radial direction, while parasternal short axis views give varied accuracy, according to segment, for radially or circumferentially directed strains. Averaging over the circumference may be preferable.
Use of tissue tracking technology implies the underlying assumption that the motion detected on the image sequence represents the motion of the actual tissue and that blood motion is not visible in the image. This is usually true in echocardiography because ultrasound wavelength is too long to detect blood cells, unless a contrast agent (made of hyper-echogenic resonating bubbles) is injected. However, blood motion can be visible on cine CMR with potential to affect tracking near the endocardial border. Blood may moves in a direction opposed to that of tissue (for example from base to apex during diastole when tissue moves toward the base) and may give rise to unrealistic results. CMR-FT therefore needs to be used with caution where adjoining intra-cavity blood flow is clearly visible.
Mice were placed in a multi-unit open field maze (San Diego Instruments) with field chamber (50 cm long 50 cm wide), and activity was recorded using EthoVision XT 8.0 video tracking software (Noldus Information Technology, Leesburg, VA, USA). Each 50 cm 50 cm unit was digitally divided into 25 quadrants of equal size (nine central and 16 peripheral) using EthoVision XT 8.0 video tracking software. The nine central quadrants are collectively referred to as the center zone and the 16 peripheral quadrants are collectively referred to as the peripheral zone as previously described [24]. Data were collected continually for 30 minutes and the distance traveled (cm), velocity (cm/second), and time spent in the center zone versus the peripheral zone were all recorded and scored automatically. The open field task is a popular model for assessing ambulatory movement and anxiety-like behaviors in response to a novel environment. Distance traveled and movement speeds are measures of ambulatory movement, whereas the amount of time spent in the center zone versus the peripheral zone is a measure of anxiety levels due to the rodent's natural thigmotaxis behavior when frightened [25].
Using the Cite button for an item will open a pop-up window where you can copy the citation formatted in four popular styles: AMA (American Medical Association), MLA (Modern Language Association), APA (American Psychological Association), or NLM (National Library of Medicine). You can also download the citation as an .nbib file, which most bibliographic reference management software can import.
It's a beautiful game, with the mazes growing in complexity and size as you go. You start off in the museum, where the exibits have come to life. The city streets are overrun with a festival. Later you enter a magical forest, and run around the giant trees. There's also a magical city-castle, where the statues have come to life and are rebelling against being statues. It is - perish the word - absolutely charming, and full of details. But after playing for a few hours, I realised it didn't remind me as much of Where's Wally as it did of the Usborne Puzzle Adventures. 2ff7e9595c
